True tween movies can be tough to find. The level of action and adventure that generally appeals to kids this age is often accompanied by too much violence to really be classed as “child-friendly”. The same goes for drama, which can either play it so safe it bores everyone silly, or verge into adult territory with precocious scripting and sexual content.
